Kirk Foster - Head of Acting & Co - Principal

Kirk Foster is head of Acting and co-principal of HTS (Hertfordshire Theatre School) which he founded in 1988 with John Gardiner. As principal he often directs many of the shows at the school as well as directing the 3rd Year’s Showcase each year at the Fortune Theatre in London.

As well as running HTS Kirk Foster is also the artistic director of the Market Theatre and has written and directed over 100 plays at the venue since its creation in 1996, most recently The Holiday, The Air Raid and Emperor's Newd Clothes, one of the now infamous adult panto’s which are now touring the country as well as playing to full houses at the Market Theatre. Other writing credits include Rory Mechanic and the Dipsticks, WW2 in 50 minutes, Classic Farce, Do you remember the early 50’s, Knock Knock you’re a Star, Our Jack, Duck Down City (to name a few) all for Back to Front Theatre Company, as well as First Time a musical which has been published by Samuel French.

In 2004 Kirk was honoured to be elected as a member of the Royal Society of Arts.
