Academic qualifications are not necessary but evidence of a good education and acceptable school record are distinctly advantageous. Admission to HTS is by audition for which a £25 non-returnable fee is made. Audition Auditions for both courses consist of:
Both the acting pieces and the song must be learnt – candidates may NOT read the words The song should be sung, in order of preference, accompanied by piano or backing tape. You should of course provide the music for the pianist. HTS holds auditions throughout the year and prospective students will be informed of their audition date once the school is in receipt of an application form and payment. When the audition day is during term time there will be an opportunity to meet and chat to current students. The audition day is a chance to get a ‘feel' for the college and its unique environment; you will be given plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the process. Your audition day will give you an accurate representation of the college and how it works. You will be notified within a month if your audition has been successful. FAQ What should I wear? The interview is for us to find out a bit about you, so don't worry about it. See it more as an informal chat. It's also the chance for you to ask questions. How do I know if my audition piece is right? At this stage we are simply looking for potential so don't worry too much the pieces. Obviously a piece that is age appropriate might be better for you – however we understand that people might not have the resources at this stage to chose the perfect piece – after all that's why you're auditioning to be trained. How many people do you accept? We only take students that we know that we can help so our numbers each year depends on who auditions. We are a small college, and it's important that we only take students that would fit into our current student body. What do I need to start college? If you are successful at audition full details of the equipment required during the three years training will be forwarded onto you. I've just auditioned for you but forgot to ask something?
