The school is centred in the delightful rural town of Hitchin . An historic town of thirty thousand people, which, as an old market town, bustles by day and, due to boasting numerous restaurants, pubs, bars and three night-clubs, buzzes at night. Although obviously not in London , it is only thirty minutes from the West End by a regular rail service.

Accommodation is pleasant and reasonably priced and far below the excessive charges that students would have to pay in the city.

HTS is based on two sites in close proximity, Queen Street House and the Market Theatre. We also use the Queen Mother Theatre and Woodside Hall in Hitchin for 3 productions a year.

Queen Street House which is also the administration site houses several classrooms used for both lessons and private study time. It's also home to the small John Gardiner Studio theatre used for intimate plays. This building is open to the students at all times, enabling them to rehearse and practise without annoying neighbours in their accommodation.
