Christine Bunning - Soprano technical singing teacher 

Christine Bunning studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After winning several prizes there she studied further in Vienna and on her return to England she worked with the New Sadlers Wells Opera and Glyndebourne Festival Opera.

Operatic roles include Lady Macbeth with the Royal Opera; Mimi, Violetta, Mar jenka (The Bartered Bride) for Welsh National Opera; Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw) Mrs Fiorentino (Street Scene) Nella (Gianni Schicchi) for English National Opera; she has also performed major roles with Opera North, 6lyndebourne Festival Opera, Hebel Theatre in Berlin, Opera Zuid, Pocket Opera Nuremburg and Opera Factory London. For Raymond Gubbay at the Royal Albert Hall she has sung Aida and Santuzza and also Agrafena in the world premier of A Family Affair at the Almeida Festival for ENO Contemporary Opera Studio. ,

In addition to her operatic work Christine is a busy concert singer, and recitalist. She has given solo recitals at the Wigmore Hall and the Purcell Room in London and has commissioned and performed work from new composers including Seven Deadly Sins by Alan Belk. With the early music group Combattimento she has recorded Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona, and a collection of Rossini songs. Other recordings includ Russian Requiem by Elis Pehkonen, and Visitato Sepulchri by James Macmillan.

Her concert repertoire further includes Gorecki Symphony 3, Ravel Sheherezade, Mahler Symphony 4, Strauss Four Last Songs, Britten Les Illuminations and War Requiem, Rachmaninov The Bells and Verdi requiem.

Recent engagements include the title role Adriana Lecouvreur for Holland Park Festival and The Overseer in Electra for the Royal Opera House.

Since taking on some private teaching five years ago, word has spread and she is now a much sought after teacher both locally in Hertfordshire, and in London .
