Bernard Sharpe – ‘Showdance' Teacher Bernard Sharpe has appeared in over twenty West End productions working with such directors as Bob Fosse, Gower Champion, Sir Peter Hall, Sir Robert Helpman, Sir Richard Eyre and Sir Trevor Nunn. Bernard appeared in the original London cast of Pippin, On The Level, Bye Bye Birdie, Gentlemen Prefer Blonds, Your Own Thing and Camelot, Bubbling Brown Sugar (later joining the New York Company), Guys and Dolls (Royal National Theatre), Amadeus and Sunset Boulevard . He appeared in his own one man show Sharpe at 8.30 at the Royalty Theatre, wrote and performed in The Last Decathlon at the National Theatre and produced From A Jack To A King at the Ambassadors. Other West End appearances include West Side Story, Anything Goes and Salome for the ENO at the London Coliseum. He was also the original Tigger in Winnie The Pooh which he played for two seasons at the Phoenix Theatre London. Bernard directed Aladdin at the Nat Horn Theatre New York staged Oi For England at the Royal Course, choreographed Damn Yankees at the Bridewell and staged the battle sequences for the RSC production of King John . He conceived, directed and choreographed An Astaire Celebration for the National Trust Claremont Festival. Directed Paradise Circus for the City of Birmingham Centenary Festival and The Garden Festival of Wales opening ceremony. Bernard also staged and directed The Alan Price Show at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane , The Nigel Brooks Singers concert at the London Palladium, and A Night Of A Hundred Stars at the Phoenix Theatre, a performance led by Dame Peggy Ashcroft and Sir Anton Dolin. At Guildford he has directed and choreographed Little Me, Weird Romance and Promises Promises. He also choreographed Tom Conti as John Barrymore in One Helluve Life directed by Bryan Forbes
